Our Company and its History
Mr. Ignacio Rospide de León started his financial activity in 1950, with more than 50 years of experience channeling the savings and investments for Uruguayans and people of the region.
On September 10 1968, this young visionary gets his own broker title from the Montevideo’s Stock Exchange. This institution founded in 1867 has been for more than 130 years a dynamic element of the Uruguayan economy.
In November 1994, Mr. Ignacio was elected among his colleagues President of the Montevideo’s Stock Exchange due to his vast experience in the stock market. He was reelected for Office in 1996.
In August 1997 Rospide Sociedad de Bolsa S.A. was created, a firm that today provides a wide range of stock exchange services making it one of the most prestigious and important exchange companies in the country and in the region.
In November 1998 Mr. Ignacio was elected again President for the Montevideo’s Stock Exchange. This was a milestone in the history of the institution and this allowed our founder to lead once again the destiny of such prestigious organization.
Our company’s philosophy and work is based upon three fundamental conditions:
Trust – The personality of our founder and our firm, as well as our valued vocation for service have distinguished our company for more than 35 years of history.
Experience – Gathered by our founder, Mr. Ignacio Rospide de León, in the shrewd development of a career that started back in 1950 settling a firm which main goal has been to assess its clients in their financial needs.
Tradition – Our company’s history tied to the experience of more than 30 years of financial activity, place our firm among the main actors of the Montevideo’s Stock Exchange. This mature and prestigious institution which had Mr. Ignacio Rospide de León as President for 3 consecutive periods from 1994 to 2000.
